Dear Jacob,
Auckland, New Zealand August 9-15, 1908
This is really making me feel like I'm something important. The shores were lined with hundreds of thousands of people to welcome our ships. It's what you kept telling me it would be like, I really feel important for once. When we finally docked and went in they even had a huge welcome banner over an arch. This is great, I couldn't be more happy with my decision to join the fleet. Thank you for talking me into it. I'll tell you much more about the trip when I get back.
